Which third party batteries should I use for Nikon D40?
I just fear the camera get malfunctioning in Battery-Life Indicator function…
However, I have no idea about a spare battery. Just heard such a brand as “CTA Digital”….
What do you think about this matter? Does anyone have experience in using 3rd party battery?
I also did read the Nikon user guide. It stated “Continuing to charge the battery after it is fully charged can impair battery performance.”
If I charge the original one during my 7-hour sleep time, Will it be practically impaired? (Most of the time on vacation, I’m not kind of convenient to control it not over 90 mins as the guide stated.

The good news is that the Nikon charger stops charging once fully charged.
I have been charging those batteries for over seven years, always the night before I shoot and have yet to have a problem. The original batteries I use in my old D100′s are still working fine after six years of service.
I think the guide is over cautious based upon my seven year experience. I have six of them, two each for the D100, D200 and D300. The D3 uses a higher capacity Li-ion battery and I treat it the same way.
